RULES AND REGULATIONS
Dressage Closing Date 9 days Prior to show

Consideration of refund with vet certificate only
1. Registration Booth opens at 7:30 a.m. Ring A begins at 9:00 a.m. Ring B begins at 9:00 a.m.
2. COGGINS: A copy of a negative Coggins taken within 12 months of the show date is required for each horse entered. If no proof of Coggins, you will be asked to leave the show grounds.
3. Class list for Ring A must be pre-registered. If any post entries are available, they will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Class list entries for Ring B will be accepted until the previous class begins. If riding classes in both rings, please pre-register hunter classes also.
4. The decisions of the judges and show secretary/manager are final. USEF rules will be followed.
5. The show management reserves the right to cancel, combine, add or divide classes if conditions warrant.
6. AGE: As of Jan. 1st -Jr Riders = 18 years & under.
Sr. Riders = 19 years and up.
7. DRESS: Dress will be casual, but suitable boots and an
ASTM certified helmet are required for every rider while
mounted. Paddock boots and half chaps are allowed.
Chaps are not allowed.
8. Copies of dressage tests are available upon re-
quest from the show secretary for $1 per test or can be
printed from the USDF and USEF websites. click here for links.
9. All dogs must be leashed at all times.
10. DRESSAGE: Readers are permitted for all tests. USDF
2007 Intro tests and USEF 2007 Training Level and above
tests will be used. No Horse/Rider combination may enter
more than two consecutive dressage levels. Suitability
and Equitation classes to be judged as a group. Higher
level tests may be ridden upon request. All classes on
page 6 must be pre-registered. Intro and Training Levels
divided Jr. & Sr. for placing, please indicate on entry form.
11. MUSICAL FREESTYLE & QUADRILLE: May ride test of
choice or create your own. Any number of riders allowed.
Music must be at the announcer’s stand 1 hour prior to
class. Cassette or CD format.
12. SPORT HORSE IN-HAND: Horses to be shown in halter
or bridle on the triangle. Judged on confirmation and way of going.
13. HUNTER DIVISIONS: Each division (except Pleasure and mini stirrup) has an under saddle and 2 jumping classes. Paid schooling rounds before each division. One round per
competitor/horse combination.
14. PLEASURE DIVISIONS:
Pleasure Division classes may be divided if more
than 8 entries.
15. GAMBLER’S CHOICE: Fences from x-rails to 3’
Fences are assigned point values; rider chooses own
course; accumulate as many points as possible in 1
minute. Rider with the most points wins.
16. Schooling over fences is only permitted in warm-up ring.
or paid schooling round.
17. Stabling is available for $30 per horse stall / $20 per tack
stall. Stalls do not need to be stripped before leaving. Stall
floors are macadam. Wheel barrows available. Shavings avail
able for $5 per bale. Stalls and shavings must be requested
on pre-registration entry form.
18. GROUNDS FEE: $15 per horse on the grounds.
19. PARKING : Trailer parking only on the grass. No trailers next
to barn except for loading/unloading.
20. STALLIONS: Must be well mannered and pre-registered.
21. REFUNDS & CLASS CANCELATIONS: In the case where a
horse has been entered and not shown, class fees will be
forfeited. Refunds will only be made with a vet certificate.
AWARDS: To qualify for Champion at a dressage level, competitors must ride 2 tests per level.
Divisions:
**All divisions open to Amateurs and Professionals**
Hopeful Hunter– 2’ fences- can not cross enter into any division 2’6 or higher, corners maybe trotted
Special Hunter– 2’6” fences
Schooling Hunter– 2’6”-3’ fences
Pleasure– 3 flat classes
Short Stirrup– cross rails. Open to anyone 18 and under
Mini Stirrup– no fences. A walk/ trot division for 10 and under. Can not cross enter into any other division
Wanna be a Hunter– 18”-2” fences. Horses and ponies that are 7yrs or younger AND in their first year showing. No penalties for simple changes. Can only cross enter into Adult Beginner rider and Pleasure Division.
Adult Beginner– 18”-2” fences. Open to riders 18 and over who consider themselves a beginner or normally do not jump. Can trot or canter fences. Only cross enter into Wanna be a hunter and Pleasure division.
Handy Hunter- open card in a.m , Horses will be judged on performance, manners, hunting pace, style of jumping, way of moving, and suitability for actual use on a trappy hunting field.
